The 2027 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 introduces two all-new V8 engines that mark the biggest powertrain shift for the lineup since the turbo four-cylinder era began. The next-generation 5.7-liter V8 and 6.6-liter V8 are both assembled at GM plants in Michigan and are designed to deliver more power and torque than the outgoing 5.3-liter and 6.2-liter engines. The Duramax 3.0-liter turbo-diesel inline-six carries over and remains available for buyers prioritizing maximum fuel efficiency and towing range.

The 2027 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 has been completely redesigned inside and out, with a bolder front fascia, more pronounced wheel arch moldings, and standard dual exhaust from the Custom trim up. Each of the seven trims carries distinct exterior styling cues, from the work-ready simplicity of the Work Truck to the lifted, off-road character of the new ZR2, which Chevrolet describes as the most capable ZR2 ever built.

Three lifted trim options — ZR2, Trail Boss, and Custom Trail Boss — underscore the off-road emphasis of the 2027 lineup, a direct response to the success of lifted trucks in this segment.

An available 11.5-inch front passenger screen adds a genuinely useful secondary display for the passenger without distracting the driver.

Super Cruise hands-free driving technology now extends to more trims than on the current Silverado, with hands-free towing available as well, continuing Chevrolet’s push to make hands-free capability more accessible across the lineup.
